Website: Websites for Wee Ones: A round up of websites to entertain your toddler
We
have taken out most of the Maisy books from the library and have moved on to other Maisy
memorabilia. They have
finger puppets of Maisy, Charley and Tallulah and a
stuffed Maisy at
Munro's Books on Government Street, and I found the
Maisy's Fun Club website. We have not spent much time in front
of the computer with Natasha to read the on-line versions of the
books that they have, but I have printed out some of the colouring
pages for her and one day we will probably play the games on the
website.
I
fell in love with the wood Anamalz
toy collection as soon as I saw them. I was trying to get Natasha to
pick between two (so that I would buy 4 of them not 5), but she was
too busy playing with a stuffed cat. I guess I was more interested
in them than she was at first. Once we brought them home, though,
she has chewed on them and played with them and is still excited by
her cow. The website has several short animated vignettes with
different animals that Natasha loves to watch over and over. There
is some music about being a crocodile or swinging through the
jungle, so you may want to look quickly for the mute button when you
go to the site to check it out.
t's
always fun to find a new friend at the library. We have discovered
Maisy, Bing and most recently Max and Pinky. The second
Max and Pinky book that we
brought home had a website address on the back cover, so I decided
to look it up. Natasha was pointing at the screen and calling out
their names when the boy Max and pig Pinky appeared.
ite
when I found a Thomas and Friends site, but I forget where how we
discovered the Thomas site. I had not seen Pingu in years, and
decided to see what the site had in store for us. Like so many
children's websites, there are games on this site, and I have to
admit that I have played more than one game of Fish Run. Natasha
likes to watch when I play and to say "Go!" just like I do when I am
deciding when to make Pingu jump to the next iceburg.
