Music: CDs for Small Ears
For
the music lovers out there (the under 5 ones that is), I highly
recommend Baby Einstein's
Playdate
Fun and
Sing and Play. I know, some people have strong
feelings about Baby Einstein products (mine are mixed), but these
CDs are real winners around here. They are good quality and the
singing and music really are good. Sure, we have listened to them
about 300 times in the last 2 months and I end up with She'll Be
Coming Round the Mountain going through my head all through yoga
class, but it is all worth it when we hear Natasha singing Baa Baa
Black Sheep and requesting the song over and over. I will never grow
tired of that!
With my French knowledge (which is a little rusty, I must admit) I
have been talking in French to Natasha since she
was
born, though I admit I forget to do it often. I was happy to find a
copy of Baby's First Steps in French, put out by Living Language: A
Random House company. This CD has 50 songs, rhymes and spoken
sections recited by both adults and young folk. This has been living
in our stereo and Natasha always asks for "French songs." We sing
the songs together, and I love hearing her sing "Sur le pont
d'Avignon, on y dance, on y dance" with me. You can find this French
gem on
Amazon.
