Books: The Creative Family: How to encourage imagination and nurture family connections by Amanda Blake Soule
It
seems like I am the last one to know about
Amanda Blake Soule's
book
The Creative Family: How to Encourage Imagination and Nurture Family
Connections. This great book focuses on all aspects of
creativity and connection from the obvious crafting activities to
walks in the woods, camping and even the importance of taking time
to decorate the dinner table. The book includes a wonderful passage
about how less is more when it comes to toys for our young ones and
that the fewer, simpler toys we have, the more imagination we will
allow and foster in our children. She also urges us to buy fewer
toys and art supplies so that we can splurge on the higher quality
and more beautiful ones. Her activities are for parent and child to
do together or for a parent to do on her own to preserve the
memories and achievements of her young, nurturing connections in
different ways.
Amanda also has a blog that you can reach through
her
website and is working on a second book that focuses on
repurposing objects. The Creative Family is available online at
Natural Pod and other online sellers. Special thanks to
mama Shannon and her
Mackenzie for telling us about this book.
