What
are you wearing under there? An underwear round up.
From diapers to underwear! We have moved on to the wonderful world
of the potty trained, so we now have experience with several
different brands of underwear. All toddler underwear is not created
equal, so we are going to share our findings.
We have only one pair of Gap underwear for toddlers. It is a
nice, thick cotton fabric and there is no tag to irritate little
bums. The fit is good and Natasha likes the picture on the front. I
bought a large pair of these for myself, and though I found the
fabric a bit too thick for my personal under-jean comfort, the fit
is good.
Vibrations underwear comes in lots of different patterned
fabrics from solid colours with contrasting elastic to stripes or
flowers. The fabric on these is thinner than on the Gap underwear,
but they have stood up to four months of wear and washing without
any signs of falling apart. The fit on these is great, and the
variety of patterns in a package keeps Natasha interested.
The Curious George underwear that my mom found has been our
least favourite. Natasha loves the picture of George on the front,
but the fit is not quite right for her. It seems like the fabric
would fit properly, but the elastic around the top is consistently
too tight on her waste. The fabric is similar to the Vibrations
fabric in thickness and quality, but the George decal on the front
has already started to crack and peel.
Another
gift from Gramma is the Gymboree underwear. Unfortunately we only
have three pairs of these - they are the favourites! The fabric is a
nice thickness and you can feel that it is going to stand up to wear
longer than the thinner fabric of other underwear. It fits well and
comes in fun patterns (and provided the polka-dot model underwear
for us). We will be going back to pick up more of these when we need
them and as Natasha grows.
