Diaper Needs: wipes and cream
The green packages of Seventh Generation wipes are no stranger to
our
household or Natasha's bum, but I was curious a couple of weeks ago
when I saw that Earth's Best, a company I knew only from
their organic baby food, also has a chlorine-free baby wipe.
I bought a package to try, and we love them! They are not as damp
as the Seventh Generation wipes, so they do not stick together like
glue and you don't have to yank on them and pull at them with the
box flopping around, following your hand as it stubbornly refuses to
release its bounty one, single wipe at a time while you try to keep
hold of the squirmy legs of a poop-soaked, 22-pound wiggler. The
Earth's Best wipes don't leave that odor on your hands that I
think I just associate with diapers and poop and think it smells
like poop, but really it does not smell like poop and I'm just being
paranoid. I really hope I'm just being paranoid about that one.
I do find that we have to dig into the box more frequently to
take one out, as the less-damp, less-sticky nature of the wipes
makes the remaining wipes more likely to fall back in instead of
stay poking up conveniently ready for the next grab. But the
advantages outwieght the disadvantages, and we are going to be
converts, provided I can keep finding a source. I found these at the
Jubilee Pharmasave at Fort and Richmond for $5.99 each.
I
came home with Weleda Baby Diaper Care cream. Weleda's entire line (adult as well as
baby) is based on calendula and its ability to help the healing
process of small wounds, red or inflamed skin and skin infections.
This plant provides antiseptic properties and strengthens
the immune system and protects the skin against infection.
